Central Park is New York City’s lungs. It is the home of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum Mile, SummerStage, Shakespeare in the Park and Central Park Tango.
The park connects Midtown with Upper Manhattan. Harlem is above the park at 110th St. The Upper West Side and Upper East Side are the park’s wings. Midtown below 59th is the bottom of the park. The buildings that ring the park are the most expensive properties in New York City.
The top of Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Ave) is graced with memorials to José Martí 🇨🇺, Simón Bolívar 🇨🇴 and José de San Martín 🇦🇷 because the avenue was originally dedicated to the nations of the Americas.

Central Park is New York City’s Lungs
This picture is looking south with the East River on the left and the Hudson River on the right. The ball fields in the foreground are the North Meadow. The big water is the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, New York City’s main water supply. New Yorkers walk around it like an exercise track. South of the reservoir are the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Great Lawn.
