Dizzy’s Club Latin 2026

Dizzy's Club (courtesy)

Dizzy’s Club is the Jazz at Lincoln Center supper club. It swings nightly with a live backdrop of unforgettable Central Park city views and good gumbo too.

Dizzy’s is a great place for a date or business dinner, especially on short notice. Trust the curation. Just go and enjoy.

The Salsa Meets Jazz series by bassist Carlos Henriquez is great.

Shoutout to Dizzy Gillespie, one of the father’s of bebop modern jazz, who brought the Latin back into jazz in 1947, when he asked Machito’s music director Mario Bauza for a conga player, and brought Chano Pozo into his band.

APRIL 2026

Afrocentric Jazz Roots

African Rhythms Alumni Band, the legacy of NEA Jazz Master Dr. Randy Weston, a pianist who documented the African roots of Jazz, celebrates Randy Weston’s centennial; on Friday-Sunday, April 3-5, at 7pm & 9pm. From $30.

This is an African American perspective, but from a Latin perspective, our African roots are the same. The band’s Music Director T.K. Blue was Weston’s music director, so this is real legacy. Weston specialized in West African and North African Maghreb (Arab) traditions. Those Maghreb traditions greatly influenced American blues, and therefore jazz, folk, and rock.
