Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2024 is a New York City Thanksgiving tradition that is loved across America. The Balloon Inflation in the Upper West Side, on the night before is pretty marvelous too.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is an American tradition that started in 1924. It’s just something everyone did on Thanksgiving Day. Even today, many families will put it on the television while gathering for their Thanksgiving meals.

Where to Watch the Parade In-Person

These are places for public viewing. Other locations may be fully or partially restricted.

  • Central Park West (West side of the street) from 75th to 61st St.
  • Central Park South. Macy’s doesn’t say there is or isn’t public viewing here. Maybe from inside the Park?
  • Sixth Avenue from 59th to 38th St.

Viewers take the best spots by 6am. Easy on the coffee because there may not be rest rooms.
