The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2022 Balloon Inflation is on the streets around the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan’s Upper West Side on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2022 starts New York’s Holiday Season live on NBC 4 from the Upper West Side to Macy’s Herald Square, on Thursday, November 24, 2022, from 9am – 12noon. 🇨🇺🇯🇲

This season’s newcomers include 4 giant balloons, five new floats, 12 new marching bands, 24 big stars…and lots of fun. Ada Twist, Scientist is back for Netflix.

Celebrities in the parade include: Gloria, Sasha and Emily Estefan (3 generations) bringing an “Estefan Family Christmas,” Sean Paul and his Jamaican dancehall, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and their Caribbean New Orleans sound, and Ziggy Marley bringing his reggae roots.

Parade performers include Ballet Hispánico, the Big Apple Circus, Boss Kids, Fusion Winter Guard, Kilgore College Rangerettes, Phantom Limb Company, Spirit of America Dance Stars & Cheer, St John’s Dance Group, and the Sigma Gamma Rho Centennial Steppers.

Parade Route

There is no public grandstand seating this year.

  • START 9AM: 77th St
  • Central Park West (viewing 75th to 61st)
  • Columbus Circle (no viewing)
  • Central Park South
  • Sixth Avenue (viewing 59th to 38th St)
  • 34th St (no viewing)
  • END 12NOON: Macy’s Herald Square
