About Sounds of Brazil

SOB’s Sounds of Brazil opened in 1982 when New York City was a very different place.

It has changed over the years from a Latin club, to a hip hop club, to a world music club. Many artists who played there have gone on to become stars.

Mayor Eric Adams declared July 25 as SOB’s Day in honor of their 40th anniversary.
