Staten Island is a suburban borough reached by the Staten Island Ferry from Manhattan or the Verrazzano Bridge from Brooklyn.
The ferry is the best ride in New York City because it sails through New York Harbor, and it’s free. On the return trip you see Downtown, Manhattan the way immigrants once did when they arrived in New York by ship.
