Staten Island

Staten Island is a quiet, suburban borough connected to Manhattan by the Staten Island Ferry and to Brooklyn by the Verrazzano Bridge.

The Staten Island Ferry is the best ride in New York City because it sails through New York Harbor, and it’s free. On the return trip you see Downtown, Manhattan the way immigrants once did when they arrived in New York by ship. It takes an hour to ride the ferry both ways, 20 minutes there, 20 minutes wait, and 20 minutes back. And its free!
