Doc Fortnight 2025 is the Museum of Modern Art’s new documentary film festival. It’s a big deal because MoMA holds one of the world’s leading film collections.

24th Doc Fortnight 2025

The 24th Doc Fortnight 2025 new documentary film festival presents films from 28 countries, including lots of Latin films; at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA); from February 20 – March 7, 2025. 🇺🇸 🇦🇷 🇫🇷 🇮🇹 🇲🇽 🇳🇬 🇵🇪 🇷🇴 🇪🇸

This season features African American, Argentine, French, Italian, Mexican, Nigerian, Peruvian, Romanian, and Spanish films or culture. There are several Argentine films.

The opening night film is the world premiere of Stanley Nelson’s “We Want the Funk!” which shows how American funk changed the world by incorporating social consciousness in soul music.

The centerpiece film is “Middletown,” by Jesse Moss and Amanda McBaine, the story of New York high school students who uncover a toxic waste scandal.

The closing film is the world premiere of Errol Morris’s “CHAOS: The Manson Murders” which takes another look at the Manson Family’s scandalous murder spree of the late 1960s.

Doc Fortnight

Since 2001, Doc Fortnight has presented new work by both emerging and established directors. The category is blurring as the documentary form seeks new modes of expression. The film festival keeps evolving as well.
