Agatha Ruiz de la Prada S/S 18 at Fashion Designers of Latin America

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada is La Movida Madrileña

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada is the Spanish fashion icon of La Movida Madrileña (the Madrid Scene). That was the burst of creative energy in Spain after the Franco era. When the dictator died in 1975, we went wild.

De la Prada is also also Spanish royalty, the twelfth marchioness of Castelldosríus, Grandee of Spain and the twenty-ninth baroness of Santa Pau. In our book, Agatha is the Queen of Hearts.

If De la Prada’s color palette reminds you of Spanish film icon Pedro Almodóvar, it’s because they all arrived in the same moment. Legendary shoe designer Manolo Blahnik and luxury jewelry designer Chus did too. They are all still doing great work.

De la Prada has wonderful clothes for kids.

If you want to dress for effortless fun, it’s Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. It’s very much who she is. I’ve never seen a fashion designer so relaxed and simply elegant.
