Christie’s Fall 2017 Impressionist & Modern Art Auction Results

Christie’s Impressionist & Modern Art auctions in May and November are pillars of New York City’s art market.

The auctions are accompanied by museum-quality exhibitions. They are a great education in art history and the art market.


Christie’s Impressionist & Modern Art Auction Fall 2017

Sixty-eight works of art are for sale.

The auction exhibition opens Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 10 am – 5 pm. The exhibition closes on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 12 noon.

The auction is Monday, November 13, 2017 at 6:30 pm.

The sale realized $479,320,250 which was the second highest total for Impressionist and Modern Art at Christie’s.

The highest price was realized by Vincent van Gogh’s Laboureur dans un champ which sold for $81,312,500 after a long bidding war.
