Giving Tuesday is a Good Day to Support the Arts

Giving Tuesday is a 21st century tradition of charity on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Giving is the natural currency of the universe. Basically, you get what you give. #GivingTuesday

The next Giving Tuesday is Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

What is the meaning of Giving Tuesday?

Giving is part of holiday traditions, but a lot of us complain about how the Holiday season has become overly commercial.

Giving Tuesday was started in 2012 by the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at the 92nd Street Y as a counterpoint to the out-of-control consumerism of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, the biggest shopping days of the year.

Giving Tuesday has rapidly grown into a global movement. It’s about service to all people. That idea is very 92nd Street Y.
