Mariah Carey Merry Christmas To All is at Madison Square Garden

Mariah Carey is a New York Venezuelan Pop singer-songwriter who is one of the great voices of her generation, and a major influence on the singers who followed.

She is perhaps most famous for the holiday anthem, “All I Want for Christmas is You.”

Mariah Carey Vision of Love

Mariah Carey is Afro-Venezuelan-Irish-American. She is gifted with a wide-ranging voice that can sing in very high registers. Carey is known for singing several notes on one syllable.

Mariah went from working in a restaurant  to stardom in 1988 when Columbia Records chief Tommy Mottola listened to her demo tape. The first four singles from her first self-titled album reached number one. She won Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for Vision of Love; at the 1991 Grammys.
