Flamenco Festival New York City Center 2018

15th Flamenco Festival New York City Center

The Flamenco Festival at New York City Center brings together Spain’s finest dancers and musicians, challenging the conventions of form, while remaining stirringly authentic. The Festival is one of the pillars of New York City’s annual dance scene.

New York City Center’s Flamenco Festival 2018 is Friday – Sunday, March 2 – 11, 2018 on the New York City Center Mainstage in Midtown, Manhattan.


Ballet Nacional de España ~ Suite Sevilla

Ballet Nacional de España (National Ballet of Spain) is the world’s leading Flamenco dance company. It blends the fire of traditional Flamenco with the technique and choreographic possibilities of classical Ballet.

Director Antonio Najarro presents his Suite Sevilla set to music by Rafael Riqueni. This is the Ballet’s first visit to New York City Center in nearly 20 years. It’s a very special treat.

Compañía Eva Yerbabuena ~ Carne y Hueso

Eva Yerbabuena is a Flamenco superstar. She formed her own company in 1998, and in 2001, won Spain’s national dance prize (El Premio de Danza).

Yerbabuena presents Carne y Hueso (Flesh and Bone). Five dancers supported by a group of musicians offer a tour de force performance as the company prepares for its twentieth anniversary celebration next year.

Ballet Flamenco Jesús Carmona ~ Ímpetus

Jesús Carmona is a pioneer in Flamenco’s evolution. The former Ballet Nacional de España principal dancer uses flawless technique to awe audiences.

Carmona presents Ímpetus, an interpretation of the music of Spain’s most beloved composers.
