About NoHo

Most of the neighborhood is the NoHo historic district. It was developed during New York City’s burst of growth between the 1850s and 1910s. Bond street is pretty, but is being redeveloped.

The Bayard-Condict Building at 65 Bleecker, between Broadway and Lafayette, is one of the best examples of the Chicago School style of architecture in New York City.

The Bouwerie Lane Theatre building at Bowery and Bond also stands out. It was a bank that became an Off-Broadway Theatre. It’s now a private home.

There are no parks in NoHo, but Cooper Triangle is on the eastern border. Washington Square Park is three blocks west.

The NoHo Business Improvement District represents local businesses. noho.bid

  • Local government is Manhattan Community Board 2 and the Manhattan Borough President.
  • City government is NYC Council District 1.
  • Federal government is New York Congressional District 12.
