  1. & Juliet is a coming-of-age Swedish pop jukebox musical about what might if Juliet of Romeo & Juliet didn’t kill herself.
  2. Aladdin is Broadway’s version of the Arabian Nights folktales.
  3. The Book of Mormon is a musical comedy about the good and the bad of Mormon missionary work in a small village in Uganda. Co-writer Robert Lopez is a New Yorker with a Filipino heritage. He co-wrote the musical with Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of the animated adult comedy “South Park.” Lopez earlier co-wrote the music for “Avenue Q” and tunes for Disney’s “Frozen.” 🇵🇭
  4. Buena Vista Social Club is the story of the group of old time Cuban musicians who got the world dancing again to son Cubano. 🇨🇺
  5. Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club is the hedonistic story of a Berlin night club in the Jazz Age.
  6. Chicago, the good-girl, bad-girl tale told in lingerie, stars African American actress Natasha Yvette Williams as Matron “Mama” Thornton. Puerto Rican-Italian-American Broadway legend Chita Rivera opened the musical role of good-bad girl Velma Kelly in 1975. The producers expanded the role because of Chita’s powerful stage presence. Italian-American Broadway legend Liza Minnelli played bad-good girl Roxie Hart in 1975 and saved the show from closing. It is now the longest-running American musical in Broadway history. Since then, Chicago regularly rotates Latin entertainers into the cast as the now legendary characters Roxie Hart, Velma Kelly, Billy Flynn and Amos Hart. 🇺🇸
  7. Death Becomes Her is the Broadway version of the comedy about how drinking a magic potion that promises eternal youth can go wrong.
  8. The Great Gatsby is the Broadway version of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic novel about The Jazz Age in Long Island, New York City.
  9. HadesTown is a musical retelling of the classic Greek love stories about Orpheus and Eurydice, and the king of Hades and his wife Persephone.
  10. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child brings the beloved book and film series to Broadway.
  11. Hell’s Kitchen is the Alicia Keys life story musical 🇺🇸
  12. Jeff Ross: Take a Banana for the Ride is American stand-up comedy by the comic who is famous for insulting people.
  13. “The Lion King” is a family musical story of Africa based on the Disney animated movie. The filmmakers say the story was based on biblical stories and Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” but there was a real Lion king. Sundiata, the Lion of Mali and richest man of all time, who founded and ruled the Malian Empire from 1235 to 1255. Music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice are great.
  14. Mamma Mia is the musical based on the songs of ABBA.
  15. Maybe Happy Ending is a musical about two robots falling in love.
  16. MJ The Musical is the Michael Jackson story. 🇺🇸
  17. Moulin Rouge! is a sexy musical love triangle set in the famed Parisian cabaret. 🇫🇷
  18. The Outsiders is a musical based on the book and film about two rival gangs growing up in 1960s Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  19. Oh, Mary! is a comedy about the life of Mary Todd Lincoln, former First Lady of the United States.
  20. Operation Mincemeat is a musical about a real World War II spy plot.
  21. Punch is a play about the true story of the book “Right from Wrong” about how one punch changed two lives.
  22. Six, the musical her-story of the six wives of English king Henry VIII, has a fully multicultural cast of African American, Asian American, and Latin American queens. 🇺🇸 🇲🇽 🇵🇭 🇵🇷
  23. Stranger Things: The First Shadow is a prequel to the Netflix series about young Americans who seek answers to supernatural and secret government events.
  24. Wicked the musical, the story of the Witches of Oz, is directed by Italian-American Joe Mantello. Opening in 2003, it won three Tony Awards, six Drama Desk Awards, and four Outer Critics Circle Awards. The original Broadway cast recording won the 2005 Grammy Awards for Best Musical Show Album. 🇮🇹
