  • “Los Soles Truncos” (February 2025) is a story about the pain of gentrification in Puerto Rico, told in the voice of three upper class sisters who feel that the Americans have taken everything from them.   • “Emilio’s A Million Chameleons” is an all-age, family-friendly musical puppet show about how Emilio Jr. a chameleon circus ringmaster, and Juan, the star chameleon, learn to overcome their insecurities by just being themselves.   • “Dakar2000” is a World Premiere thriller about how a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal and a State Department operative help each other find their way after a mysterious car accident. “Bad Kreyol” is the World Premiere of Dominique Morisseau’s play about the conflict that arises when a Haitian American tries to connect with her Island Haitian family. “Eva Luna” is Caridad Svich’s retelling of Isabel Allende’s famed novel about the challenges and triumphs of a woman who rises from poverty to become a storyteller of history. It is loosely based on the history of Chile where Allende is from, and Venezuela where she lived in exile, and her own rise to becoming the most popular female author in Spanish. “La breve y maravillosa vida de Oscar Wao,” is Marco Antonio Rodríquez’ adaptation of Junot Díaz’ Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about a New Jersey Dominican college kid who dreams of becoming a writer and finding love, but fears that he suffers from the fukú curse, a legacy of the Dominican colonizers. Its at Repertorio Español in Kips Bay, Manhattan; on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 7pm. and in repertory. “La llamada” (The Call) is Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo’s musical coming-of-age comedy about two Spanish teenagers who love reggaeton and Spanish pop music. At Christian summer camp, one has life-changing visions of God singing Whitney Houston songs. “Medea Reversed” is Venezuelan playwright Luis Quintero’s World Premiere hip hop battle rap retelling of Euripedes’ classic Greek play about princess Medea who takes vengeance on her husband Jason (of the Argonauts) after he leaves her, by killing his new wife, and her own two sons by Jason. It’s co-produced by the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, for Red Bull Theater at The Sheen Center Shiner Theatre in NoHo, Manhattan; from September 12 – October 13, 2024. “Radojka” is Uruguayan playwrights Fernando Schmidt and Christian Ibarzabal’s comedy about a dead 80-year old’s caregivers who pretend she is still alive to keep their jobs.
