Gonzalez y Gonzalez (“GyG”) is a Mexican restaurant in Greenwich Village with live salsa for dancing on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and some Thursdays.
If you dream of the good old days, here is a connection. Johnny “Dandy” Rodríguez, Jr. was Tito Puente’s long-time bongo player and a FANIA All-Star. He plays GyG pretty regularly.
The Mexican food is pretty good. All in all, it’s a fun place for a night out.
