National Jazz Museum in Harlem (Afroto/Dreamstime)

The National Jazz Museum in Harlem is a living museum of the Caribbean music and culture that defines us as Americans. It’s in Harlem, the home of bebop modern jazz. Artistic directors Jon Batiste and Christian McBride are giants in the field. This is a place full of Black joy, and everyone is welcome to come feel it. Feel your JOY out loud.

When I look up to the stars,
I know exactly who we are,
Cause then I see you shinin.”

Jon Batiste, “Freedom” (2021)
