|The Mexico Now Festival opens with Benito Taibo presenting his first book “Persona Normal” at King Juan Carlos Center (NYU), Tue Nov 13, 2012, 7pm|
Passionate, irreverent, obsessive: Mexican writer Benito Taibo presents his first novel, Persona Normal, a funny, quixotic mosaic of 32 short stories and essays. In it, Taibo plays with language, paradox, and humor, drawing on his own vast cultural knowledge that proves he is anything but a “persona normal.”
Benito Taibo is the author of four books of poetry, as well as short stories, arts journalism, and screenplays. He is known as a furtive writer, an improviser, a true gourmet, and a voracious reader. He has produced television, promoted books, serves as the national dissemination coordinator for Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).
