The Art Show 2021 Exhibitors

  • Corbett vs. Dempsey’s showcase of drawings by Emilio Cruz and canvases by Omar Velázquez, both of different generations of the broader Caribbean diaspora, whose work engages their national and ethnic identities through allegory and allusion; 🇨🇺🇵🇷
  • Forum Gallery’s solo exhibition of paintings, pastels, and drawings by Chilean artist Claudio Bravo, who has long been acknowledged as one of the world’s premier realist painters, including works rarely shown publicly in the United States; 🇨🇱
  • Mary-Anne Martin Fine Art’s presentation of works by Modern Mexican and Latin American artists working across a variety of artistic styles and movements of the 20th century, including Mexican Muralism, surrealism, and geometric abstraction. 🇲🇽
  • A selection of works by Argentinian artist Xul Solar, curated by Gabriela Rangel, former Artistic Director of Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires, and presented by Sicardi | Ayers | Bacino; 🇦🇷
  • Peter Freeman, Inc.’s solo presentation by Brazilian artist Fernanda Gomes—featuring new pieces created specifically for The Art Show—whose work exists between painting and sculpture, avoiding categorization and blurring the boundaries between object and space, light and shadow, composition and dispersion; 🇧🇷
  • Leon Tovar Gallery’s multigenerational examination of the radically experimental and eclectic artistic practices that emerged in Brazil during the twentieth century to challenge the bounds of the insular art object. 🇧🇷

These are all “wow” artists, and we don’t usually see much Caribbean art at this show. This is our heritage. Let’s go see it. The people watching is great and we love to talk with the art dealers too.
