Celebrate César Chávez Day, the labor leader’s birthday

César Chávez was an American labor leader and civil rights activist.

The co-founder of the United Farm Workers union is remembered for improving the lives of agricultural laborers through nonviolent methods.

In a way, César Chávez is the Latino Martin Luther King. Our country needs the spirit of both of these great Americans to get our nation through the trials of the day.

Chávez grew up working in the fields in California with his parents. He dedicated his life to improving the lives of farm workers.

Celebrate his birthday in Yuma, Arizona on March 31, 1927.
