Manhattan’s Mexican Day Parade Celebrates Mexican Independence Day

Manhattan’s Mexican Day Parade 2023 celebrates Mexican culture and contributions to the United States.

There are two Mexican Day Parades in New York City this year:

  • Mexican Independence Day Parade in Staten Island on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

Mexican Independence Day celebrates El Grito de Dolores, a speech by Father Miguel Hidalgo that launched the Mexican War of Independence, from Spain, on September 16, 1810.

The parade is actually a series of events.
