Master Drawings New York 2019 at 30 galleries

Master Drawings New York is at 30 galleries in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, for one week, daily from January 26 through February 2, 2019 from 11am-6pm (12-6pm Sundays), with a Preview on Friday, January 25 from 4-8pm. FREE

Last year Master Drawings New York expanded into paintings, watercolors and sketches. There are lectures at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Albertine, the French Embassy’s bookstore.

Drawings provide a unique window into an artist’s creative process. The sketches and studies for paintings are artworks in and of themselves.

It’s a bit of an academic and art collector’s show, but the work is beautiful. You get to see it up close and talk with the dealers.

Latin Art at Master Drawings New York 2019

There are Latin dealers from Paris and Madrid along with New York dealers of Latin art such as Leon Tovar and Colnaghi. As usual, there is French, Italian and Spanish art sprinkled throughout the fair.

You can find Latin art at these dealers:

  • Benjamin Proust (UK)
  • Colnaghi (Spain, USA, UK)
  • Découvert Fine Art (USA)
  • Didier Aaron (France, USA)
  • Findlay Galleries (USA)
  • Galerie Kugel (France, USA)
  • Leon Tovar (USA)
  • Michael Werner Gallery (USA, UK)

Master Drawings New York 2019 Tickets

Unlike other art fairs, Master Drawings New York is free.

The Friday night Preview is the best time to go because all the dealers will be present. Dealers tend to be in an out during the week.
