Repertorio Español is one of New York City’s most successful Off-Broadway theaters. Founded by New York Cubans in 1968, it produces Spanish-language theatre from literary classics and some new stories, with occasional comedy and flamenco. Much of the theatre is presented with subtitle translations, so you English speakers can enjoy the productions too. In season, Repertorio often performs six days a week, with many daytime performances. In summer, it performs on weekends.
The black box theater with minimal staging is really a writer’s, director’s and actor’s theatre. Some of the performers are well-known actors.
It’s a great place to take your family, and learn about the classics of Hispanic culture.
Thank you Repertorio Español for sponsoring Latin theatre at New York Latin Culture Magazine.

“La Traición en la amistad” is a Spanish Golden Age play by María de Zayas y Sotomayor, directed by Ana Luz Zambrana. The story is about a love triangle where two women love the same man, and how women can be just as wicked as any man in the pursuit of love. repertorio.nyc 🇪🇸
