Ada Twist Scientist is a Smart Girl

One of the problems of the Parade has been a lack of representation for balloons of color. That’s really strange for a business that targets people of color as core customers.

Netflix saves the day this year. There are four new character balloons. The Netflix entry is Ada Twist Scientist. She’s a dark-skinned girl who happens to be a young genius scientist.

President Barack and Michelle Obama produced a television series based on the popular children’s picture book by Andrea Beaty and David Roberts. Beaty has written a number of excellent books in which children can see their own future.

This hits all the right notes. Thank you Netflix.

Here Comes Santa Claus at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2021

In the Latin world, the Three Kings bring gifts for children, but Santa Claus is close enough.
