Upper East Side NYC

The Upper East Side NYC is Manhattan’s most exclusive residential neighborhood. It is between Central Park and the East River from 59th St to 96th St.

Museum Mile is Fifth Avenue along Central Park. Madison Avenue is a high-end shopping district. Park Avenue is has big business. Lexington has a little of everything because of the subway. Second Avenue has lots of bars and now its own subway. Carl Schurz Park has beautiful East River views.

There are many high-end art galleries, especially of Old Masters.

Art Fairs

The Park Avenue Armory hosts many art fairs.

The Winter Show is America’s biggest antiques fair.

Master Drawings is an Old Masters art fair in around 20 Upper East Side art galleries.


Art Auctions

Sotheby’s New York May and November art auctions are pillars of the New York art scene. Old Masters and antiques auctions are in January. In season, the building is one big gallery with museum-quality exhibitions.
