Celebrate the Feast Day of Changó
On Saturday, December 4, many Caribbean and Latin American families will celebrate the feast day of Changó. He is the orisha of drumming and dancing, and owner of the sacred batá drums. Changó is very popular with musicians and dancers.
The same sacred rhythms and dances have been calling our ancestors since the beginning of human time. In the Americas, they evolved into Rumba, Méringue, Merengue, Bomba, Bélé, Cumbia, Tambor, Festejo, Samba, Candombe, Tango, Salsa, Reggaeton and other popular music and dances of the Americas. So that dance move you like, may have been used to call Changó in West or Central Africa a thousand years ago. 🇨🇺🇭🇹🇩🇴🇵🇷🇹🇹🇨🇴🇻🇪🇵🇪🇧🇷🇺🇾🇦🇷🇺🇸
